Things I like about NYC #3: Bridges

The bridges
The bridges

With the weather still good, we set out to walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the Brooklyn Bridge – and back via the Manhattan Bridge.

Both bridges are spectacular… On the Brooklyn, pedestrians have a raised walkway – looking down on the cars (as it should be). That’s if you can take your eyes away from the spectacular views.

What a view.
What a view.

Which reminds me – things I like about NYC #4: the architecture.

There are so many interesting and beautiful buildings – of all shapes and sizes and heights.

Between the two bridges on the Brooklyn side is a park where we found –

Morris dancers – they were American, not English, but giving it their all!

Wedding parties.

Whether they arrived on foot or in a limousine, the brides all wanted a photo with The Bridge in the background.

Photo shoots. From family happy snaps to fashion models doing their thing.

The walk back to Manhattan took us into Chinatown. Another thing I like about NYC  – the smell of the restaurants in Chinatown.

What number am I up to now? It doesn’t really matter… I have a feeling the list is just going to keep getting longer.
