What's in a name?

A great start to the week

This morning I received these in the post – copies of the Norwegian edition of my novel “The Farmer Needs A Wife”.

It’s such a pretty cover- it made me smile immediately..

But now I’m wondering what the title is …

Translated books quite often have different titles than the original.

A translator friend of mine (who is also a novelist – Henriette Gyland – check out her new book) explained this is often because cultural references are different between the two places.

The Russian edition of the same book was titled (roughly translated) “Love Will Find You”.

So – does anyone out there speak Norwegian? Can you translate this for me. I’ll send you a signed copy of the book.

The front cover has a lovely quote from the fabulous Katie Fforde – saying she loved the book. I didn’t expect that. Thank you Katie. The feeling is very mutual.

This version is the first of my books to have my photo on the cover. I’m a bit shy about photos – but they have done such a nice job of it.

Monday morning was starting a bit slow, particularly as I am jet-lagged after returning from Kazakhstan – but suddenly it’s a pretty fine Monday indeed!

There's a tractor - just like on the original English version
