I am excited to announce that Wedding Bells by The Creek – the fifth book in my Coorah Creek series, is a finalist in the Aspen Gold Readers Choice Award, presented by the Heart of Denver chapter of Romance Writers of America. So very very thrilled. There are more details here.
The Wild One
Iraq war veteran Dan Mitchell once disobeyed an order – and it nearly destroyed him. Now a national park ranger in the Australian outback, he’s faced with another order he is unwilling to obey…
Photographer Rachel Quinn seeks out beauty in unlikely places. Her work comforted Dan in his darkest days. But Quinn knows darkness too – and Dan soon realises she needs his help as much as he needs hers.
Carrie Bryant was a talented jockey until a racing accident broke her nerve. Now Dan and Quinn need her expertise, but can she face her fear? And could horse breeder, Justin Fraser, a man fighting to save his own heritage, be the one to help put that fear to rest?
Sometimes, the wounds you can’t see are the hardest to heal…
The Wild One was shortlisted in five Romance Writers of America Chapter contests. It was the winner in the mainstream category of the Book Buyers Best contest run by the Orange County Chapter of RWA, and was also chosen as the Top Pick Award.
The book was also shortlisted for the Aspen Gold Reader’s Choice award run by the Heart of Denver chapter, the Heart of Excellence Readers’ Choice Contest held by the Ancient City Romance Authors, the Award of Excellence organised by the Colorado Chapter of the Romance Writers of America and the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence, sponsored by RWA chapter Southern Magic. The cover design was a winner in the Colorado Chapter cover competition – in the mainstream category. I am thrilled that the book is receiving such recognition.
I loved going back to Coorah Creek – it was so good to meet old friends there. And to find some new ones.
The Australian Outback is a wild and wonderful place. Some people go there to escape from the past. But emotions run close to the surface in wild places. The past may still haunt you. Or you may find a chance at redemption – if you are strong enough to take that chance.
This was one of my favourite books to write (so far) – I hope you’ll enjoy reading it too.
