Eager to make a real difference, English nurse Katie Brooks has travelled halfway around the world to work on an air ambulance in outback Queensland. I grew up with a father and brother who both loved old classic cars. It was inevitable that a bit of that \u2013 just a little bit \u2013 would rub off on me. I\u2019ve put that in this book.<\/p>\n

This book was also prompted by my English husband. While watching the New Year fireworks from beneath Sydney Harbour Bridge, he said it really didn\u2019t seem like Christmas or New Year because it wasn\u2019t snowing.<\/p>\n

For many years, I\u2019ve lived a long way from the small Queensland town where I grew up \u2013 but I still consider it my home town. Some things you never really leave behind.<\/p>\n
