Or\u2026 how I went to Ally Pally and nearly lost my mind.<\/p>\n

Regular readers will know that some time ago I took up knitting.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not that good at it \u2013 but I really like it.<\/p>\n

So \u2013 a friend told me about this Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace.<\/p>\n

I must go, she said. It is the home of all things knitting\u2026 sewing and quilting as well \u2013 but it was the knitting that mattered to me.<\/p>\n

So I went.<\/p>\n

It was my first visit to Ally Pally \u2013 what a fabulous building \u2013 with a great history.<\/p>\n

I shall be back at another time when I can give the building it\u2019s due respect\u2026 That just wasn\u2019t possible on this trip, because once I got inside \u2013 there was nothing but the wool\u2026<\/p>\n

I dived right in \u2013 although not as literally as some.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m still learning this knitting thing \u2013 who knew you could knit a hedgehog\u2026<\/p>\n

Or a car\u2026<\/p>\n

How many hours did it take to knit this?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Or that you could make a portrait with a sewing machine.<\/p>\n

I had a wonderful time \u2013 and yes I bought wool. Only four projects worth of it \u2013 plus a couple of patterns, and some yarn I needed to finish something already underway.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a confession \u2013 I took three carry bags \u2013 and needed all of them to bring my haul home. Next year, I may need to take four.<\/p>\n
