Always afraid that this time we got it wrong – and nobody will like what we wrote.

It takes me nine months to write a book – and it isn’t until I’ve finished that anyone sees it. So I am living on hope all that time.

So now – as the first reviews start coming in – all I want to say is Yay!!! And Thank You!

It appears I didn’t do too badly after all. I’ve had some lovely reviews and messages from readers.

I’d like to share a couple with you…

For the last third of the book, the tears came steadily for me. By this stage, I felt so invested in each of the characters and every time I dried my eyes, a fresh set of tears appeared from the next chapter. Booklovebug…

Janet Gover … does a terrific job of transporting her reader to this arid, red, and dusty part of the world: she truly captures ”the splendour of the Outback in all its moods”. Tripfiction

Really liked this town. I actually Googled it to see if it existed so I could add it to my “to visit” list. Bookbabe

These reviews really move me – because they touch on the heart of what I am trying to do with the Coorah Creek books.

I want my characters to be real. I want readers to relate to them… and when someone cries over a character’s story, then I know I have done that.

I want readers to feel as if they really are visiting outback Australia – a place I love.

And I wanted to capture the feel of living in a small town – something I know so well and want to share.

So thank you for your kind words – for making my book welcome.

I know I will get a bad review for this book at some point. Not everyone is going to like it – and that’s fine. I don’t expect everyone to like it. But I feel now that maybe I did okay.

I’d better get on now and finish the next one.

This week was the official release of the paperback of Flight To Coorah Creek.
