I will never stop trying to be a better writer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I was writing when I heard the news that Terry Pratchett had died, and that made it even more heart-breaking.<\/p>\n<p>Is it wrong to cry on the death of someone you haven\u2019t met? I don\u2019t think so \u2013 and I am certain I was not alone in doing just that.<\/p>\n<p>We all knew it was coming, because of the illness he called his embuggerance \u2013 but that didn\u2019t make\u00a0the news any\u00a0easier to hear.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Terry Pratchett was a great writer \u2013 his books were original and funny and the words danced off the page like music.<\/p>\n<p>The reason was the amazing mind behind them \u2013 he looked at the world with such wisdom and insight. His wit and anger and compassion he made us see so much about our world and ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>In his wizards and witches, his dwarves and trolls and vampires, in his gods and his oh so very human characters \u2013 he painted us all.
