I teach writing, and run workshops and retreats. In my day job, I do online training for a technology firm. So I now get to combine the two and launch my first Online Writing Lab<\/p>\n

This course is being carried out under the banner of the Romance Writers of Australia<\/a> \u2013 and I thank them for inviting me to teach this .<\/p>\n

It\u2019s about self editing. We all do it \u2013 but do we do it right?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Self editing is the key to giving your work the best possible chance in a highly competitive environment. This course outlines a four step approach to polishing your work:\u00a0 from big picture structural edits to the fine detail of line edits and proof reading. Make sure your plot and characters work. Tighten that saggy middle. Find your voice and your characters voices. Fine tune point of view.\u00a0 Avoid repetition, clich\u00e9 and inconsistency.<\/p>\n

The course will include tips and tricks to help you find your strongest and weakest points. Crutch words, repetition and extra sparkle are all on the table in this four\u00a0week course. You may even find yourself moving scenes and chapters.<\/p>\n

Offering a logical four step approach, with exercises and feedback, this course will give you the tools you need to send your manuscript into the world and make it stand out for all the right reasons.<\/p>\n

Nor do you have to be in Australia (I\u2019m not). \u00a0There are no particular computers skills needed \u2013 just sing up and then start download the course.
