I’m always excited by publication days.. it’s thrilling to think that somewhere in the world, someone is reading my story. Will it touch them in some way? Maybe make them smile…
This publication day is particularly special – because this is the publication of 100 Stories For Queensland.
After the devastating floods in January – the call went out for writers to donate stories for a fund raising anthology. More than 300 stories were offered – and I was very pleased to be one of the 100 selected for inclusion in the book.
This is very a personal project for me – these photos were sent to me by friends and family.
I grew up in these places – and lost part of my past when the floods came.
But what I lost was nothing compared to families who lost everything. It’s wonderful to think that in some small way. I’ve been able to help.
I’ve already got my copy of 100 stories. There’s some great reading (and I like to think my story On The Road East is worth a look too). If you like a good read, and want to help some people who need it, please do buy a copy. You won’t be disappointed.
