This week – I had the joy of spending a few days in Melbourne at the RWA (Romance Writers Of Australia) conference.
It was great to make so many new friends and meet so many writers..
And there were some unexpected bonus moments…
I was shortlisted for their RUBY Award.
I didn’t win but I was honoured to even be shortlisted next to such fabulous books as Johanna Nicholl’s The Lace Balcony – and huge congrats to her for winning.

The cocktail Party and awards dinner were such fun – and the conference sessions were really informative.

This was my first time at RWA – but I am already planning for I can come back next year – and join my new friends in Adelaide.

The RWA Conference looks and sounds terrific fun. And I enjoyed seeing your name, photo and book up there in lights, as it were. I do hope that lots of good things happen as a result. Flight to Coorah Creek gets my vote every time!
Thanks Elizabeth. It was a real thrill to be on the award shortlist. I’ll definitely be back for the conference again next year. And I am keeping my fingers crossed that the second Coorah Creek Book – The Wild One – goes down well with the judges of next year’s award.
I picked up your ROMNA post while in Greece and although I’m sad you didn’t win as it’s a fabulous book but being short-listed is winning; people buy the short-list. The Conference looks as much fun and just as outrageous as the Romantic Times’s one.
